The Super Falcons will face their toughest challenge yet at the 2024 Olympic Games women’s football tournament when they take on reigning world champions Spain at Stade de la Beaujoire in Nantes on Sunday, July 28. Kick-off is at 19:00 CAT (7:00 pm).

Following a narrow 1-0 loss to Brazil in their Group C opener, the West Africans will be eager to bounce back against the 2023 World Cup winners.

The decision to bench star forward Asisat Oshoala has sparked debate, and her potential return to the starting lineup against Spain will be a key narrative heading into the match.

Spain, meanwhile, secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Japan, courtesy of goals from Aitana Bonmati and Mariona Caldentey.
