Manchester United Boss ten Hag Booed By Old Trafford Crowd During End of Season Speech

Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, faced boos from sections of Old Trafford during his end-of-season speech after full-time on May 15.

The Red Devils had moments earlier claimed all three points in their final home game of the season, with a 3-2 win against Newcastle United.

The win was an important one for Man United, who are aiming to secure a place in European football next season amid a run of mixed results.

After the final whistle, ten Hag gathered his players at the centre of the Old Trafford pitch and was handed a microphone to address the United supporters.

• “I want to thank you all for the brilliant support during the season,” he said via Sky Sports. “As you know, it wasn’t an easy season, but one thing remained constant – and that was the backing of you for the team,” he continued.

Despite a mixed reaction of boos and some cheers from the crowd, he reflected on their inconsistent season and emphasised the significance of fan support.

The Dutchman also emphasised the significance of the upcoming FA Cup final at Wembley against Manchester City on May 25.

• “The season is not over yet. We go to Wembley and I promise you those players will give everything to bring the FA Cup to Old Trafford!”
